Association of the Universities of Asia

and the Pacific (AUAP)

 

AUAP primary purpose is to be the main platform for interaction and collaboration between members, and to be an effective voice of universities in Asia and the Pacific region. 

 

The leaders of AUAP have adopted a unified vision for the organization and that is the promotion of the general welfare and good image of their members. Through the cooperation of all these leaders, AUAP has the capability to shape and influence the outlook of higher education regionally and globally. The heads of these higher education institutions enjoy a global network of supportive colleagues and this enables AUAP to secure support for member institutions’ interest and concerns.

 

University of Saint Joseph (USJ) 

 

The University of Saint Joseph, Macao (former IIUM – Macau Inter-University Institute) is a Catholic University from Macao S.A.R., China, that closely follows the model and standards of top European Universities. It was founded in 1996 and is rooted in a long tradition of intercultural exchange that has been the hallmark of Catholic higher education in Macao since the College of Saint Paul (1594). The project of Jesuit fathers Valignano, Rugieri and Ricci provides the inspiration for their view of higher education with a universal character, capable of promoting dialogue between the cultural, scientific, ethical and philosophical traditions of China and Europe.

 

USJ’s students and scholars come from all corners of the world and share an atmosphere of integral human development. This creates an innovative learning environment that gives their students the ability to live as global citizens and prepares them for careers in multicultural and international contexts.
